Test Your Hearing

23rd April 2008

Test your hearing with the latest audiometric equipment, available at any of our hearing centres, now also available in the comfort of your own home.

If you feel your hearing is not as good as it should be, what have you got to lose by having a free hearing test?

What is involved?
The consultant will first ask you a few questions to establish if your work, medical or family history may have contributed to your hearing loss and if it is safe to actually proceed with a hearing test. Then your ears will be examined to check the condition of your ear drums and ear canals.

If an infection is discovered or you have too much wax then you will be advised to see your GP before a hearing test can be carried out.

For the hearing test, a series of different tones will be presented and you will be required to say if you can hear them. The idea of a hearing test is to establish what the faintest sound is that you can hear, at each given frequency, from low pitched to high pitched tones.

The test results will be explained by the Hearing Aid Audiologist, if hearing loss is present, various hearing solutions can be explored. Demonstrations are essential for anyone considering improving their hearing and can be done at the assessment.

Nevals offer free hearing tests in the following locations:
